Hello! I'm Hunter Pitelka, a junior
Computer Science major at
Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. My interests include programming in both low level systems environments as well as on the Internet, fiddling with electronics, sound and lighting production as part of my schools
student run technical organization, amateur radio communications (Callsign:KB3SCQ), flying planes, getting lost in the woods, dirt biking, photography, and of course long walks on moonlit beaches.
I'm a big Open Source fan, I run
Debian on most of my computers and
Fedora on my server. All my programming is done with open source languages/compliers and if I ever do anything worth it, I'd release it for free.
I'm currently a Teaching Assistant for
15-213, Introduction to Computer Systems for the fourth semester in a row. I'm developing a new autograding infrastucture for that course using
KVM,
Tashi, and some custom software. I am also a licensed FAA Private Pilot and am working towards my Instrument Rating.
